An NCKU Experience course short — storyboarded, shot, and locked while Taiwan was living through the early COVID years.

runtime

~2:50

A compact futuristic love film: two people, a city under pressure, and the claim that affection outlasts lockdown logic.

The premise

When the city shrinks, the cut still has to hold two people.

The film treats pandemic pressure as weather around a relationship — futuristic edges, intimate centre. Storyboards lock the beats; the FULL HD export is the public master for HAAM Film.

It sits in the Tainan film chapter next to dance work: same city, different grammar.

01

Premise

Make a love story that refuses the virus as the final author.

Love Survives is a short speculative romance from Tainan: futuristic framing, ordinary tenderness, and the argument that connection keeps working when public life shrinks.

  • COVID as atmosphere and obstacle, not the whole plot
  • Storyboarded beats before the camera rolls
  • A locked FULL HD cut kept with the coursework archive
02

Craft

Treat a student short like a production package.

Export versions, storyboard pages, music, and stills stay together. The public page publishes the watchable cut and a few frames; the FCP bundle keeps the rest findable.

  • Multiple encode sizes for sharing and screening
  • Production photos next to storyboard frames
  • HAAM Film lists it as part of the Tainan chapter
03

Taiwan film

Sit beside dance films without pretending they are the same genre.

壓力很大 and Impromptu carry body and improvisation. Love Survives carries narrative romance — the other way NCKU years showed up on a timeline.

  • Film edition + Asia + Taiwan place pages
  • Web encode from the FULL HD master
  • Masters stay in the production archive

Project record

A Tainan narrative entry for HAAM Film.

Masters remain in the NCKU Experience archive. This page publishes the web encode, frames, and stills.

Evidence trail

Why the interface is this way.

PRODUCTION ARCHIVE

Data-driven interaction design means the design decision should be traceable upstream. Here is the shortest version of that chain for this project.

01

Evidence

A FULL HD locked cut (~2:50), multiple export sizes, storyboard frames, music, and a production stills set from NCKU Experience Section 1 (Cho) in March 2020.

02

Interpretation

A student short about love under COVID only stays public if the watchable cut travels with its storyboard and stills, not as an unnamed Export folder.

03

Design decision

Publish a web encode and curated frames on HAAM Film while keeping the FCP bundle and masters in the coursework archive.

04

Result

Love Survives becomes HAAM's Tainan narrative romance entry beside the dance films.
